Estimated brownout runtimes

Runtime ≈ 512 Wh × 0.85 ÷ load (W). The 0.85 factor allows for usable capacity and AC conversion losses, in line with the factor EcoFlow and other makers use. Real runtime varies.

Estimated runtime by scenario
Scenario (example wattages)LoadEstimated runtime
Essentials: fan, Wi-Fi router, three LED bulbs 97 W 4 h 29 min
Essentials + phone charging + laptop 187 W 2 h 20 min
Essentials + refrigerator (compressor ~⅓ of the time) 130 W 3 h 20 min

What it can run on its own

Each appliance by itself, using example wattages. Motor appliances are checked against the surge rating at about 3× their running watts.

Example appliances and estimated runtime
ApplianceExample loadCan it run it?Runtime alone
Electric fan 60 W Yes 7 h 15 min
LED bulb × 3 27 W Yes 16 h 7 min
Wi-Fi router 10 W Yes 43 h 31 min
Phone charging × 2 30 W Yes 14 h 30 min
Laptop 60 W Yes 7 h 15 min
LED TV 80 W Yes 5 h 26 min
Refrigerator 100 W Yes 4 h 21 min
Chest freezer 100 W Yes 4 h 21 min
Desktop computer + monitor 150 W Yes 2 h 54 min
Rice cooker (cooking) 700 W No — output too low —
Water pump 370 W Yes 1 h 11 min
Aircon (inverter, small room) 900 W No — output too low —

Fridges, freezers and aircons cycle on and off, so they usually last longer than the “runtime alone” figure suggests.

Recharging with solar

It accepts up to 220 W of solar input (11-50V, 13A). With about 4.7 peak sun hours a day (the Philippine average) and allowing about 20% for losses, a full recharge from empty takes roughly:

  • 0.7 sunny days with a 200 W panel
  • 0.6 sunny days with 220 W of panels (its maximum input)

Estimate: capacity ÷ (panel watts ÷ 1.2 × peak sun hours). Cloudy weather, shading and panel angle reduce charging.

Notes: The 500W rated output and 1000W X-Boost come from the store marketing text and the www.ecoflow.com/ph RIVER 2 footnote. They are not in the spec table. Surge is not stated. The RIVER 2 series page claims '<30ms EPS auto-switch' for the series, but the RIVER 2 Max page gives no model-specific figure, so it is left null. Weight is 'Approximately 6kg'. Prices are for the 'RIVER 2 Max' variant. A 'RIVER 2 Max 500' variant sells at PHP 19,790 / 29,580. Marked 'Sold out' on 2026-10-27.
