Electricity Savings
Understand your bill. Use fewer kWh.
Your bill is kWh × rate, plus a few details. You can’t control the rate, but you can control the kWh — and knowing where they go is the first step.
The two numbers that matter
Every electricity bill comes down to how many kilowatt-hours (kWh) you used and the price per kWh. The price is set through your distribution utility or electric cooperative and regulators, and it changes monthly — for example, Meralco’s announced overall rate for a typical household was ₱15.0615/kWh in October 2026 (The Philippine Star). Your kWh is the part you control.

Where to start
- Find your all-in rate: divide the total on your bill by its kWh.
- List your appliances in the appliance inventory and compare the total with your bill.
- Focus on the biggest users first — in many homes that’s cooling, followed by refrigeration and anything with a heating element.
