DELTA Pro 3 High-PV vs Low-PV Solar Inputs Explained: Series Strings and Minimum Panels
How the EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3's High-PV (30-150V) and Low-PV (11-60V) solar inputs differ, why High-PV needs series strings, and the minimum panels for each.
Checked against the sources listed below. How we research.
Key takeaways
- High-PV: 30-150V, 15A, 1600W. It suits long series strings of panels. Low-PV: 11-60V, 20A, 1000W. It suits single panels, short series pairs and parallel groups.
- High-PV has a 30V minimum. One 160W or 220W NextGen panel (about 18V) is too low, so you need at least 2 in series.
- A single 125W Bifacial, 400W Lightweight or 400W rigid panel clears 30V on its own. The 45W panel can't use High-PV at all.
- Maximums on High-PV: 6 x 160W or 220W, 3 x 400W, or 4 x 125W in parallel. On Low-PV: 2 x 220W in series, 1 x 400W, or 6 x 125W in parallel.
- Both inputs work at the same time, up to 2600W in total per EcoFlow.

The EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 has two solar inputs. High-PV takes 30-150V, 15A and 1600W, and is made for series strings. Low-PV takes 11-60V, 20A and 1000W, and suits single panels, series pairs and parallel groups. The key rule: High-PV needs at least 30V, so 160W and 220W panels must go in series (2 or more) before it will charge from them.
Volts, amps and why the two ports differ
A solar panel has two numbers that matter here:
- Open-circuit voltage (Voc): the highest voltage it makes, with nothing connected. This must stay under the port’s maximum.
- Operating voltage (Vmp): the voltage while charging. This must be above the port’s minimum.
Wiring panels in series adds their voltages; the current stays the same. Wiring in parallel adds their currents; the voltage stays the same.
High-PV allows up to 150V but only 15A, so it’s built for several panels in series. Low-PV allows only 60V but up to 20A, so it handles one or two panels in series, or several in parallel. In our checks we keep each string’s Voc at least 5% under the port maximum, which means 142.5V on High-PV and 57V on Low-PV.
Minimum and maximum panels per port
| Panel | High-PV minimum | High-PV maximum | Low-PV options |
|---|---|---|---|
| 220W NextGen (Vmp 18.4V) | 2 in series | 6 in series (1,320W) | 1, or 2 in series |
| 160W NextGen (Vmp 18.6V) | 2 in series | 6 in series (960W) | 1, 2 in series, or 2 in parallel |
| 400W Rigid (Vmp 31V) | 1 | 3 in series (1,200W) | 1 only |
| 400W Lightweight (Vmp 34.5V) | 1 | 3 in series (1,200W) | 1 only |
| 125W Bifacial (Vmp 43V) | 1 | 4 in parallel (500W) or 2 in series | 1 to 6 in parallel (750W) |
| 45W (Vmp 22V) | Not usable | Not usable | 1 only |
Notes on the table:
- One 400W rigid panel on High-PV works at 31V, only 1V above the minimum. Two or three in series give a far more comfortable margin.
- Seven 160W or 220W in series go over the voltage margin (about 149-151V). Stop at six.
- Four 400W in series are 148-157V. Stop at three.
- Six 125W in parallel on Low-PV draw 19.2A, inside 20A, but bifacial gain could push it to 20.4A. Use five if you want headroom.
- Two 160W in parallel on Low-PV need EcoFlow’s Solar Parallel Connection Cable (or T/Y-branch cables, which the DELTA Pro 3 manual also allows).
- 400W Lightweight in series needs a series cable that EcoFlow PH says is sold separately. We couldn’t identify the exact part, so ask EcoFlow PH.
- 125W in series needs the MC4 adapter cables that come only in EcoFlow’s 500W (4 x 125W) set. Parallel uses the panels’ own XT60W leads.
- 60W panel: EcoFlow’s official specs disagree, so we don’t include it here.
Which port should you use?
- Have 3 or more matching panels? Put them in series on High-PV. It takes more watts (1600W) and long strings are what it’s for.
- Have one or two panels? Use Low-PV. A single 220W panel works there; on High-PV it won’t.
- Have both? Use both. The manual allows both inputs at once, and EcoFlow lists 2600W total.
The DELTA Pro 3 manual says the ports have overvoltage protection up to 155V (High-PV) and 62V (Low-PV), but also says to always keep within the normal limits. Treat 150V and 60V as hard limits.
Cables
The manual specifies EcoFlow’s Solar to XT60 Charging cable for High-PV and a Solar to XT60i Charging Cable for Low-PV. The 160W and 220W NextGen panels come with an MC4-to-XT60i cable; EcoFlow doesn’t say whether that fits the High-PV port, so buy the XT60 version for High-PV.
Safety
A six-panel High-PV string runs well over 100V DC. Keep connectors dry and off wet ground. Ground-mounted portable panels are plug-and-play and you can set them up following the manual. Roof mounting or connecting the DELTA Pro 3 to your house wiring needs a licensed electrician and an LGU electrical permit.
What to buy
- EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 on Lazada (EcoFlow PH) or on Shopee
- For High-PV: 2 to 6 x EcoFlow 220W on Lazada, or 2 packs of 400W Rigid on Lazada

Bottom line
High-PV wants voltage: two or more 160W/220W panels in series, or one to three 400W panels. Low-PV takes single panels and parallel groups. Use both for the most solar.
