Which Power Station to Get? BLUETTI or EcoFlow
BLUETTI or EcoFlow power station? Compare the BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 with the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus, RIVER 2 and RIVER 3 on verified specs, then choose by need.
Checked against the sources listed below. How we research.
Key takeaways
- Neither brand is better overall. Pick the model that fits your appliances, then compare models of the same size.
- Small backup: the BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 (288Wh, 600W AC) and the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus (286Wh, 600W AC) are close matches. Both use LiFePO4 batteries rated for 3,000 cycles to 80% capacity.
- The RIVER 3 Plus accepts more solar (220W, 11–55V) than the Elite 30 V2 (200W, 12–28V, 10A) and can be expanded to 858Wh. The Elite 30 V2 has a 380W Turbo AC charge.
- The EcoFlow RIVER 2 and RIVER 3 are smaller: 256Wh and 245Wh, with 300W AC output and 110W solar input.
- For a fridge or aircon-class load, the only large units we have verified are EcoFlow models such as the DELTA 3 Plus, DELTA 3 1500 and DELTA Pro 3.
- Never connect a BLUETTI PV350S panel to the Elite 30 V2. Its open-circuit voltage is far above the 28V limit.

Choose by size first, then by brand. For small brownout backup, the BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 (288Wh, 600W AC) and the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus (286Wh, 600W AC) are close matches. The RIVER 3 Plus takes more solar and can add a battery, while the Elite 30 V2 charges faster from the wall. For a fridge or aircon, you need a much bigger unit, and the big models we have verified are all EcoFlow (DELTA 3 Plus, DELTA 3 1500, DELTA Pro 3).
Why this comparison is lopsided (and how we kept it fair)
We only compare specs that we have checked against the maker’s own pages and manuals. Our BLUETTI list has one power station, the BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 on Lazada, plus three BLUETTI solar panels. For EcoFlow we have verified more than twenty models, from small RIVER units to large DELTA units.
BLUETTI makes larger power stations too. We just haven’t verified their specs, so we won’t guess at them here. That is why this guide:
- compares the Elite 30 V2 only with EcoFlow models of a similar size, and
- names only EcoFlow models for the large, fridge-and-aircon tier.
None of this means one brand is better. It means we can only vouch for the numbers we have checked. You can see each brand’s verified lineup on our EcoFlow power station guide and our BLUETTI power station guide.
Side-by-side: the small power stations
These four sit in the same class: under 300Wh, 3.5–4.7 kg, and suited to fans, lights, Wi-Fi and phones during a brownout.

A few notes so the table isn’t misread:
- “Power Lifting” and “X-Boost” are not the same as surge. BLUETTI’s manual says the Elite 30 V2’s 1,500W Power Lifting is only for pure resistive loads rated 600W to 1,500W, like a kettle or heater. BLUETTI does not publish a surge rating for the Elite 30 V2.
- The switchover times are what each maker states. EcoFlow calls the RIVER 2’s under-30 ms figure an EPS auto-switch, not a dedicated UPS rating.
- The RIVER 3 Plus expansion uses EcoFlow’s extra batteries (EB300 or EB600). EcoFlow also sells it bundled as the RIVER 3 Max (572Wh).
What the numbers mean at home
Battery size: almost a tie
The Elite 30 V2 and RIVER 3 Plus differ by only 2Wh. In practice they will run the same load for about the same time.
Here is a rough example, using the same assumptions as our power station runtime calculator: 95% of the battery usable and 90% inverter efficiency (about 85.5% combined).
- Elite 30 V2: 288Wh × 0.855 ≈ 246Wh delivered. A 50W electric fan runs for about 4.9 hours.
- RIVER 3 Plus: 286Wh × 0.855 ≈ 245Wh delivered. The same fan runs for about 4.9 hours.
- RIVER 2: 256Wh × 0.855 ≈ 219Wh. About 4.4 hours.
- RIVER 3: 245Wh × 0.855 ≈ 209Wh. About 4.2 hours.
These are estimates. Check your fan’s actual watts on its label and plug your numbers into the calculator. Our guide on how to calculate power station runtime explains the steps.
AC output: 600W vs 300W
The Elite 30 V2 and RIVER 3 Plus can both supply 600W continuously. The RIVER 2 and RIVER 3 supply 300W. If you only need a fan, a router and phone charging, 300W is plenty. If you want to run several things at once, such as a TV, a fan and a laptop, the 600W models give you more room. Always add up the watts of everything you will run at once.
Solar charging: the biggest real difference
This is where the two closest rivals differ most.
- BLUETTI Elite 30 V2: XT60 input, 12–28V, 10A max, 200W max. The manual warns: “Do not use solar panels with open circuit voltage higher than 28V.” No solar charging cable comes in the box.
- EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus: XT60i input, 11–55V, 13A, 220W max. EcoFlow’s PH store says 0–100% in as fast as 1.5 hours on solar.
The wider voltage range on the RIVER 3 Plus means more panel choices. Our verified list includes a single EcoFlow 220W Portable Solar Panel, or two EcoFlow 160W panels in series, with output capped at 220W.
With the Elite 30 V2, the 28V and 10A limits rule out most of BLUETTI’s own larger panels:
- The BLUETTI Sora 60 (60W) is the panel BLUETTI sells with the Elite 30 V2 as an official kit. It connects with a DC5521-to-XT60 cable. Our Elite 30 V2 + Sora 60 solar kit guide covers the setup.
- The BLUETTI PV200 and Sora 220 stay under 28V (26.1V and 25.9V), but their short-circuit currents (10.3A and 11A) are above the Elite 30 V2’s 10A input limit. We don’t recommend them for it.
- The BLUETTI PV350S must never be connected to the Elite 30 V2. Its open-circuit voltage is 44–47V, depending on the source, which is far above the 28V maximum.
As a rough example, one Sora 60 gives 60W × 4–5 peak sun hours = 240–300Wh a day before losses. That’s most of a charge on a clear day, not a guaranteed full one. The 4–5 hours is an example assumption, not a figure for your location.
Wall charging and backup switchover
The Elite 30 V2’s 380W Turbo AC charge is a little higher than the RIVER 3 Plus’s 360W, which is handy when power comes back only briefly between rotational brownouts. Both list a switchover time of about 10 ms, so both can sit between the wall and a Wi-Fi router to keep it running when the power cuts out. Test your own router first, since equipment differs.
Expansion
The RIVER 3 Plus can grow to 858Wh with an EcoFlow extra battery. We found no verified expansion option for the Elite 30 V2, so plan to buy the size you need.
The big tier: fridge and aircon
A 288Wh station is not built for a refrigerator overnight or an air conditioner. For those, you need a much larger battery and a higher AC output. How large depends on your appliance.
On our verified list, every model in this tier is an EcoFlow:
| Model | Capacity | AC output (surge) | Solar input max | Expandable to |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus (Shopee · Lazada) | 1,024Wh | 1,800W (3,600W) | 1,000W (2 × 500W inputs) | 5,000Wh |
| EcoFlow DELTA 3 1500 (Shopee · Lazada) | 1,536Wh | 1,800W (3,600W) | 500W | 5,500Wh |
| EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max (Shopee · Lazada) | 2,048Wh | 2,400W (4,800W) | 500W | Not listed |
| EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 (Shopee · Lazada) | 4,096Wh | 4,000W (8,000W) | 2,600W | 12,000Wh |
All four use LFP (LiFePO4) batteries.
Before you buy for a fridge, read our fridge brownout sizing guide. For an aircon, read can an EcoFlow power station run an aircon? first. Aircons draw a lot of power, and the answer depends on the unit.
Could the Elite 30 V2 run a small fridge? We can’t say. BLUETTI publishes no surge rating for it, and a fridge compressor draws a burst of extra power when it starts. Ask BLUETTI about your exact fridge before relying on it.
Which should you get?
Match your situation to one of these.
“I just need a fan, lights and Wi-Fi during short brownouts.” Any of the four small units works. If you want the most AC headroom, compare the BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 and the EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus on Shopee on today’s price. If 300W is enough, the EcoFlow RIVER 2 and EcoFlow RIVER 3 are lighter at 3.5 kg.
“I want to charge it with solar during long outages, like after a typhoon.” The RIVER 3 Plus has the wider solar input (220W, up to 55V) and more verified panel options. The Elite 30 V2 works well with BLUETTI’s own Sora 60 kit, but it’s a 60W panel, so expect slower solar charging.
“I might need more battery later.” The RIVER 3 Plus can be expanded to 858Wh. We have no verified expansion option for the Elite 30 V2.
“Power comes back for short windows and I need a quick top-up.” The Elite 30 V2’s 380W Turbo AC charging is the highest of the four. The RIVER 3 Plus, RIVER 2 and RIVER 3 each list 0–100% in about an hour on AC.
“I need to keep a refrigerator or an aircon running.” Skip the small tier. Look at the EcoFlow DELTA models in the table above, and confirm the size with the runtime calculator.
“I’m still not sure.” Answer a few questions in our which EcoFlow power station quiz. It covers EcoFlow models only. Then compare its pick with the BLUETTI guide if you’re in the small-backup range.

Bottom line
For small brownout backup, the BLUETTI Elite 30 V2 and EcoFlow RIVER 3 Plus are the fairest match: same 600W output, nearly identical battery. Pick the RIVER 3 Plus if solar charging or future expansion matters more. Pick the Elite 30 V2 if fast wall charging matters more, and pair it only with a panel that fits its 28V/10A input, like the Sora 60. For a fridge or aircon, step up to a large unit; on our verified list, those are EcoFlow DELTA models. Whatever you choose, size it with the runtime calculator before you buy.
