Solar Panels for the EcoFlow DELTA 3 2000 Air: Using Both 500W Inputs

How to solar-charge the EcoFlow DELTA 3 2000 Air: two 500W inputs, 1000W total. Verified panel setups per port, cable needs, and a charge-time estimate.

Key takeaways

  • The DELTA 3 2000 Air has two XT60i solar inputs, each 12-60V, 15A and 500W, for 1000W total (manual and PH store: "500W*2 1000W Max").
  • Treat each port as its own setup: whatever fits one port can be repeated on the other.
  • Full 1000W: four 125W bifacial panels in parallel on each port (8 panels).
  • Simpler 800W: one 400W Lightweight panel on each port. Never join two 400W Lightweight panels in series (78.6V).
  • Best case, 1000W of panels could refill its 1920Wh battery in about 1.9 hours; real conditions take longer.

The EcoFlow DELTA 3 2000 Air takes up to 1000W of solar through two separate 500W inputs. The easiest verified setup is one EcoFlow 400W Lightweight panel per port (800W); to use the full 1000W, put four EcoFlow 125W bifacial panels in parallel on each port.

Two ports, two separate setups

Both XT60i inputs are rated 12-60V, 15A and 500W, and both can work at once. Our checks are per port, so a setup that fits one port can be copied on the second. You don’t have to match them. One port could run a 400W Lightweight panel while the other runs two 220W panels in series.

What you can’t do is pile everything onto one port. Above 500W the extra watts are wasted, and above 60V or 15A you risk damage.

Per-port compatibility

Panel Per port Volts / amps Usable W per port Both ports Cable
125W bifacial 4 in parallel 50V / 12.8A 500W 1000W (8 panels) XT60W-to-XT60i included
400W Lightweight 1, single 39.3V / 12.2A 400W 800W (2 panels) None, built-in XT60
220W single-face 2 in series 43V / 12.4A 440W 880W (4 panels) MC4-to-XT60i included
160W single-face 2 in series 42.6V / 9.1A 320W 640W (4 panels) MC4-to-XT60i included
400W rigid 1, single 37.1V / 13.79A 400W 800W (the 2-panel pack) Not included: buy 2 Solar-to-XT60i cables

Combinations that fail on a port: two 400W Lightweight in series (78.6V), two 400W rigid in series (74.2V) or parallel (27.58A), three 220W or 160W in series (64.5V / 63.9V), and two 220W or 160W in parallel (24.8A / 18.2A).

The rigid pack fits this station well

The EcoFlow 400W rigid listing is a pack of two 400W panels. On single-port DELTA 3 models only one of the pair can be used. On the 2000 Air, each panel gets its own port for 800W. The pack includes no cable, so you need two Solar-to-XT60i cables, one per panel. Rigid panels are usually mounted in place; if that means the roof, hire a licensed electrician.

Charging estimate

The 2000 Air holds 1920Wh. Best case, hours ≈ capacity ÷ usable watts:

Setup Usable W Best-case hours
8 × 125W bifacial 1000W about 1.9
4 × 220W (2 series per port) 880W about 2.2
2 × 400W Lightweight 800W about 2.4

Real output is lower in heat, haze and when the sun is low, so treat these as minimums. During rainy season, one port’s worth of panels may only top it up partly.

Setup steps

  1. Split your panels into two groups that each fit the table above.
  2. Lay each group in full sun. Connect series or parallel links first, then the cable to the station.
  3. Plug group one into input 1 and group two into input 2.
  4. Check that the screen or app shows watts coming in on both.

Portable panels can be set up by the owner using the manuals. A permanent mount on the roof, or any connection to your house wiring or breaker panel, needs a licensed electrician (PEE) and an LGU electrical permit.

What to buy

Check today’s price. See the DELTA 3 2000 Air buyer guide and estimate how long it runs your ref or electric fan with the EcoFlow runtime calculator.

Bottom line

Use both inputs. One 400W Lightweight per port gives 800W with the fewest parts; four 125W bifacial per port gives the full 1000W. Keep every port under 60V and 15A.

Frequently asked questions

How much solar can the EcoFlow DELTA 3 2000 Air take?
1000W in total: 500W on each of its two XT60i inputs. Each input is rated 12-60V and 15A, and both can be used at the same time.
Can I connect all my panels to one port of the DELTA 3 2000 Air?
Only up to that port's 500W, 60V and 15A. Anything above 500W on one port is wasted, so split the panels into two groups, one per port.
Do two 400W EcoFlow panels work on the DELTA 3 2000 Air?
Yes, if each panel goes into its own port. Joining them in series on one port makes 78.6V, which is over the 60V limit.
