Best Solar Panels for the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max Plus (and How Many Per Port)

Which EcoFlow solar panels work with the DELTA 3 Max Plus: two 60V/18A ports, 1000W total solar, and the exact panel counts and wiring per port.

Checked against the sources listed below. How we research.

Key takeaways

  • The DELTA 3 Max Plus has two XT60i solar ports, each 11-60V and 18A max, and both can charge at the same time.
  • EcoFlow lists different total solar figures (1000W on the PH store, 1600W in one bundle note). We use 1000W.
  • Best per-port setups: 2 x 220W NextGen in series (440W), up to 5 x 125W Bifacial in parallel (625W), or 1 x 400W Lightweight.
  • Don't put two 400W panels in series on one port: 2 x 400W Lightweight is 78.6V, above the 60V limit.
  • Example: 2 x 220W in series on each port (880W) refills the 2,048Wh battery in roughly 3.3 hours of strong sun (estimate).

The best EcoFlow panels for the DELTA 3 Max Plus are the 220W NextGen (2 in series per port), the 125W Bifacial (up to 5 in parallel per port) and the 400W Lightweight (1 per port). It has two 11-60V, 18A solar ports that can charge together. EcoFlow lists the total solar input as both 1000W and 1600W on different pages, so we plan for 1000W.

The 1000W vs 1600W question

The Philippine store and the UK store both say the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max Plus takes 1000W of solar. A bundle note on EcoFlow’s PH specs page says “up to 1600W”. The manual gives the per-port voltage and current (11-60V, 18A) but no per-port wattage. Until EcoFlow settles it, plan for 1000W total. That’s the safe number: if 1600W turns out to be right, you lose nothing.

Because the per-port wattage isn’t published, the watts in the table below are upper limits (the panels’ rated total), not guaranteed charging figures.

Compatibility table (per port)

Panel Works? Count and wiring per port Up to (rated W) Cable Buy
220W NextGen (single-face) Yes 1, or 2 in series 440W MC4-to-XT60i, included Lazada
160W NextGen (single-face) Yes 1, or 2 in series 320W MC4-to-XT60i, included Shopee / Lazada
125W Bifacial Yes 1 to 5 in parallel 625W XT60W-to-XT60i, included; panels daisy-chain Lazada / Shopee
400W Lightweight Yes 1 only 400W None (built-in XT60) Lazada
400W Rigid (pack of 2) Yes 1 only 400W Solar to XT60i cable, not included Lazada
45W Yes 1 45W DC5521-to-XT60i, included Lazada

What doesn’t work on one port:

  • 2 x 400W in series. The Lightweight pair is 78.6V and the rigid pair is 74.2V, both above 60V.
  • 3 x 220W or 3 x 160W in series. Too much voltage (over our 57V safety line).
  • 2 x 220W, 2 x 160W or 2 x 400W rigid in parallel. Too much current for 18A.
  • 6 x 125W in parallel. Too much current.
  • 125W panels in series. Each is 50V, so two would be 100V.

The 400W rigid listing is two panels, so one pack covers both ports (one panel on each).

Example: how long to charge from solar?

Say you put 2 x 220W in series on each port. That’s 880W rated, under the 1000W total.

  • Example assumption: panels give about 70% of their rating in real Philippine conditions (heat, angle, clouds).
  • 880W x 0.7 ≈ 616W.
  • 2,048Wh ÷ 616W ≈ 3.3 hours of strong sun.

With an example 4.5 peak sun hours, that’s one good sunny day from empty. It’s an estimate, not a promise. EcoFlow’s own lab claim is “1000W input, 0-80% in 96 mins” in optimal conditions.

Five 125W panels on each port would be 1,250W rated. The station will draw no more than its total limit, so treat 1000W as your ceiling.

Setup steps

  1. Set the panels in full sun, facing the sky with no shade from walls or trees.
  2. For 220W or 160W pairs, join the two panels in series (plus of one to minus of the other on the MC4 leads), then use the included MC4-to-XT60i cable.
  3. For 125W panels, daisy-chain them through their own XT60W leads and use the included XT60W-to-XT60i cable.
  4. Plug each string into its own XT60i port on the station and check the input watts on the screen.

Portable panels like these are plug-and-play, and you can set them up yourself by following the manual. Mounting panels on the roof or wiring anything into your house needs a licensed electrician and an LGU electrical permit.

What to buy

Check today’s price before you buy. Note that EcoFlow PH says the DELTA 3 Max Plus expansion adapter is not currently available in the Philippines, so plan around the built-in 2,048Wh.

Bottom line

Use two ports and keep each one simple: 2 x 220W in series, up to 5 x 125W in parallel, or a single 400W panel. Never put two 400W panels in series on this station. Plan for 1000W total until EcoFlow publishes one figure.

Frequently asked questions

Is the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max Plus solar input 1000W or 1600W?
EcoFlow's own pages disagree. The Philippine store and UK store say 1000W; a bundle note on EcoFlow's PH specs page says up to 1600W. Plan for 1000W total until EcoFlow clarifies.
Can I connect two 400W EcoFlow panels in series to the DELTA 3 Max Plus?
No. Two 400W Lightweight panels in series reach 78.6V open-circuit, and two 400W rigid panels reach 74.2V. Each port's limit is 60V. Use one 400W panel per port instead.
Can I use both solar ports on the DELTA 3 Max Plus at once?
Yes. The manual lists two XT60i solar inputs, and both can be used together. Keep each port within 60V and 18A, and the total within 1000W.
Do I need an adapter for the 400W rigid panel?
Yes. The 400W rigid panels have MC4 leads and no cable in the box, so buy EcoFlow's Solar to XT60i Charging Cable separately.
