Checked against the sources listed below. How we research.

Key takeaways

  • The TCL TAC-11CSD/P7 (FreshIN 3.0) leads verified 1HP splits with a label CSPF of 7.11, 650 W rated input and 3.06 kW capacity.
  • Second is the TCL TAC-09CSD/FBI (FreshIN 2.0): CSPF 6.28 and 660 W, from TCL's own spec sheet.
  • The Fujidenzo HIS-103AG (CSPF 5.33, 820 W) and Midea MSCH-10CRFN8 Chione (CSPF 5.23, 830 W) follow, both with retailer-listed CSPF.
  • The TCL TAC-10CSD/KEI2 is rated 780 W but has the lowest CSPF of the group (4.90).
  • All five are inverter units. A split needs refrigerant piping, so installation should be done by a licensed technician.

The 1HP split type aircon that uses the least electricity for its cooling, among verified models, is the TCL TAC-11CSD/P7 (FreshIN 3.0): CSPF 7.11 on its DOE label, 650 W rated input and 3.06 kW rated capacity. The TCL TAC-09CSD/FBI (CSPF 6.28, 660 W) is a strong second. Both beat every verified 1HP window unit on CSPF.

How we ranked them

By CSPF first, then rated watts. CSPF is the label’s “Energy Efficiency Rating” — cooling per kWh over a standard season. Rated watts is the power input at full load. We only ranked models with both figures from a DOE label or the manufacturer.

2 TCL TAC-09CSD/FBI (FreshIN 2.0) 660 W 6.28 (TCL spec sheet) Label not found 2.93 kW (10,550 kJ/h) 9–16 sqm

What stands out

TCL’s FreshIN units are in a different league on CSPF. A CSPF above 6 means the unit delivers over six units of cooling for every unit of electricity across the test season. The P7 also has the biggest capacity here (3.06 kW), so it isn’t low-watt because it is small.

The FBI’s spec sheet gives a useful power range. TCL lists a rated input of 660 W, a range of 220 to 1,100 W and rated current of 2.9 A. That range is typical of an inverter: it can drop to a few hundred watts once the room is cool.

Fujidenzo and Midea are close. The HIS-103AG and the Midea Chione are almost tied on CSPF and watts. Fujidenzo also publishes an EER of 11.85 kJ/h per W. Our Fujidenzo HIS-103AG guide has the full breakdown.

Low watts, lower CSPF: the TCL KEI2. At 780 W the KEI2 draws less at full load than the Fujidenzo or Midea, but its seasonal CSPF is the lowest here. If you run the aircon all night, CSPF is the better guide.

Example monthly cost

Example only: 8 hours a night, 30 days, at an example rate of ₱12 per kWh (your own rate is on our electricity rates page). “Example factor” uses the DOE’s older-label assumption that an inverter averages half its rated input; real use varies with your room.

Model Full power With example factor 0.5
TCL TAC-11CSD/P7 (650 W) 156 kWh, about ₱1,872 78 kWh, about ₱936
TCL TAC-09CSD/FBI (660 W) 158.4 kWh, about ₱1,901 79.2 kWh, about ₱950
TCL TAC-10CSD/KEI2 (780 W) 187.2 kWh, about ₱2,246 93.6 kWh, about ₱1,123
Fujidenzo HIS-103AG (820 W) 196.8 kWh, about ₱2,362 98.4 kWh, about ₱1,181
Midea MSCH-10CRFN8 (830 W) 199.2 kWh, about ₱2,390 99.6 kWh, about ₱1,195

This simple watts-based estimate doesn’t capture CSPF differences, so a high-CSPF unit can do better than its row suggests. Use the aircon electricity cost calculator for your own hours.

Not ranked (data not confirmed)

  • Midea MSAS series (e.g. MSAS-10CRFN8): a listing claims CSPF 7.66, but no rated watts or label could be confirmed.
  • Midea MSCE-10CRFN8: listing-only figures.
  • Haier, Hisense and iFFALCON ZA 1HP splits: no specs we could confirm from a label or maker.

Where to buy

Most of these are series listings, so select 1HP and check the model code. Ask whether installation is included. A split needs refrigerant piping and a proper electrical connection, so have a licensed technician or the brand’s authorised installer fit it.

Bottom line

For a 1HP split with the least electricity per unit of cooling, the TCL TAC-11CSD/P7 is the top verified pick, with the TCL TAC-09CSD/FBI close behind. The Fujidenzo HIS-103AG and Midea Chione are solid middle choices. See window vs split if you’re still deciding on the type.

Frequently asked questions

How many watts does a 1HP split type inverter aircon use?
The verified 1HP splits we checked are rated at 650 W to 830 W of power input: TCL TAC-11CSD/P7 650 W, TCL TAC-09CSD/FBI 660 W, TCL TAC-10CSD/KEI2 780 W, Fujidenzo HIS-103AG 820 W and Midea MSCH-10CRFN8 830 W. An inverter can draw less than this once the room is cool, and more during a hard start-up: TCL lists a maximum input of 1,100 W for the FBI.
Is a 1HP split more efficient than a 1HP window type?
The two most efficient 1HP splits here (CSPF 7.11 and 6.28) beat every verified 1HP window unit, whose best is 5.60. But some splits, such as the TCL KEI2 at 4.90, are no better than a good window unit. Compare CSPF, not the type.
What is the Midea Chione's real wattage?
Midea Philippines lists 830 W input at standard cooling conditions. One retailer also lists a 2,050 W "rated input power", which looks like a maximum figure. Use Midea's 830 W when comparing.
Is the Midea MSAS split with CSPF 7.66 more efficient?
A listing says so, but we could not confirm its CSPF or rated watts from a label or Midea's own pages, so we have not ranked it.
