TCL TAC-09CWI/UB2 Power Consumption: Watts, CSPF and Monthly Cost
TCL TAC-09CWI/UB2 power consumption: 850 W on the DOE label (not the 1,450 W some listings show), CSPF 5.12, 5 stars. Monthly cost example and 1HP comparisons.
Checked against the sources listed below. How we research.
Key takeaways
- The TCL TAC-09CWI/UB2 is a 1HP AI full DC inverter window aircon. Its DOE label shows 850 W power input, CSPF 5.12 and 5 stars.
- Some listings say '1450 watts'. Anson's lists the power range as 200–1,450 W, so 1,450 W is the top of the range, not the rated input.
- At full rated power, 8 hours a night for 30 days is 204 kWh, about ₱2,448 at an example ₱12/kWh. Inverter units often run below rated power once the room is cool.
- Among verified 1HP window units, only the Kolin KA-100GQAIINV32 (CSPF 5.6) rates higher on seasonal efficiency.

The TCL TAC-09CWI/UB2 is a 1HP inverter window aircon with a DOE-label power input of 850 W, a CSPF of 5.12 and 5 stars. Ignore the “1,450 watts” on some listings: that is the top of its operating range, not its rated input. It is sold at the TCL Official Store on Shopee and the TCL store on Lazada.

Why the listing says 1,450 W
Inverter aircons don’t run at one fixed wattage. The compressor speeds up to pull a hot room down, then slows to hold the temperature. Anson’s gives this unit’s range as 200 to 1,450 W. The 850 W on the DOE label is the rated input under standard test conditions. That is the number to use for comparisons and cost estimates. The 1,450 W figure is useful in one case only: if you plan to run the aircon from a generator or power station, size for the higher figure.
What it costs to run each month
monthly kWh = watts × hours per day × days ÷ 1,000
For 8 hours a night, 30 nights:
- At full rated power: 850 × 8 × 30 ÷ 1,000 = 204 kWh, about ₱2,448 at an example rate of ₱12 per kWh. Use your own bill’s rate.
- At half the rated input on average (an example assumption, matching the 0.5 inverter factor on the label; real use varies): 102 kWh, about ₱1,224.
The label’s own 114.75 kWh figure assumes 9 hours a day at that 0.5 factor. Plug your real hours into the aircon electricity cost calculator and look up your electric company on the electricity rates page.
How it compares with other 1HP window aircons
| Model | Rated input | CSPF | Cooling capacity | Stars |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kolin KA-100GQAIINV32 | 740 W | 5.6 | 2.86 kW | 4 (newer label) |
| TCL TAC-09CWI/UB2 | 850 W | 5.12 | 2.6 kW | 5 |
| iFFALCON IFAC-09CWI/UL | 880 W | 4.96 | 2.58 kW | 5 |
| TCL TAC-09CWI/UJE2 | 733 W | 4.88 | 2.6 kW | 5 |
Ranked by CSPF, the UB2 is second among verified 1HP window units. The Kolin KA-100GQAIINV32 is ahead on CSPF and also has more cooling capacity and fewer rated watts. Its 4 stars come from a newer label with different star bands, so compare the CSPF, not the stars.
Against its sibling, the TCL UJE2, the UB2 has the better seasonal efficiency but a higher rated input. The iFFALCON IFAC-09CWI/UL (sold through TCL’s store) is slightly behind on both watts and CSPF.
Who the TAC-09CWI/UB2 suits
- Bedrooms and home offices at the larger end of the 1HP range, if you trust the retailer’s 15–23 m² figure. For hot, sunny rooms, read our guide to aircon use in extreme heat.
- Homes with unstable voltage, given the 155–265 V operating range Anson’s lists.
- Long nightly use, where a high CSPF matters more than the rated watts. See inverter vs non-inverter aircons for why.
Have it installed by a licensed technician or TCL’s authorised installer, and seal the window frame well.

Bottom line
Use 850 W and CSPF 5.12 when judging the TCL TAC-09CWI/UB2, not the 1,450 W in some listings. It is one of the more efficient 1HP window inverters with verified labels. Only the Kolin KA-100GQAIINV32 rates higher on CSPF.
