Which EcoFlow Power Stations Work With the EcoFlow 160W Solar Panel?

The EcoFlow NextGen 160W single-face panel fits RIVER 2 Max/Pro, RIVER 3 Plus/Max and every DELTA 3, with up to 2 in series. It is not a match for RIVER 2 or RIVER 3.

The EcoFlow NextGen 160W Portable Solar Panel works with the RIVER 2 Max, RIVER 2 Pro, RIVER 3 Plus, RIVER 3 Max, RIVER 3 Max Plus and every DELTA 3 model. Use 1 panel, or 2 in series. On the RIVER models, 2 in series fill the 220W input. On a DELTA 3 port they give 320W. Its 9.1A current is too high for the 8A input on the RIVER 2, RIVER 3 and RIVER 3 UPS.

The panel in numbers

These figures are from EcoFlow’s NextGen 160W manual (EF-Fold-P160-04), confirmed by EcoFlow’s CA store:

  • 160W, Voc 21.3V, Isc 9.1A (operating 18.6V at 8.6A)
  • Single-face, 5.6 kg, MC4 connectors
  • In the box: storage case and a 2.5 m Solar (MC4) to XT60i charging cable

Be careful not to confuse it with the 160W Lightweight bifacial panel on the EcoFlow PH store. That one is a different product, with a built-in XT60 cable and no cable in the box.

Compatibility table

Power station Port limits Panels / wiring that pass Usable solar
RIVER 2 Max, RIVER 2 Pro 11–50V, 13A, 220W 1 single, or 2 series 160W / 220W

DELTA 3, 3 Classic, 3 1500, 3 Max 11–60V, 500W 1 single, or 2 series 160W / 320W
DELTA 3 1000 Air, 1000 Air UPS 12–60V, 15A, 500W 1, or 2 series 160W / 320W
DELTA 3 Plus, 3 2000 Air, 3 Max Plus, 3 Ultra Plus 2 ports 1, or 2 series, per port up to 320W per port

DELTA Pro 3, Low-PV 11–60V, 20A, 1,000W 1; 2 series; or 2 parallel up to 320W
DELTA Pro Ultra, High-PV 80–450V, 15A, 4,000W 5–12 in series up to 1,920W
DELTA Pro Ultra, Low-PV 30–150V, 15A, 1,600W 2–6 in series up to 960W

Cables: the included MC4-to-XT60i cable connects to the XT60i ports on RIVER and DELTA 3 models. For series wiring, join the panels’ MC4 leads male-to-female (EcoFlow Solar Extension Cables help if the leads are too short). The DELTA Pro Ultra’s High-PV port takes the MC4 leads directly, and its Low-PV port uses the Low-PV cable that comes with the DELTA Pro Ultra. For the DELTA Pro 3 High-PV port, the manual names an EcoFlow “Solar to XT60 Charging cable”. EcoFlow does not say whether the included XT60i cable fits, so check with EcoFlow before you buy.

Combinations to avoid

  • RIVER 2, RIVER 3, RIVER 3 UPS: 9.1A is over their 8A input. The RIVER 2 manual does list a “160W portable solar panel” as an accessory, so EcoFlow appears to treat it as usable. But the panel’s current is still above the published input rating, so we don’t recommend the pairing.
  • 2 in parallel on any RIVER or DELTA 3: 18.2A is over the 13A, 15A or 18A limit.
  • 3 in series on any DELTA 3: 63.9V is over the 60V limit.
  • 1 panel on the DELTA Pro 3 High-PV port: 18.6V is below its 30V minimum.

Example charge time

Assuming full output the whole time, a best case:

  • RIVER 3 Plus (286Wh) with 2 in series (220W): about 1.3 hours. EcoFlow PH quotes “as fast as 1.5 hr” with 220W.
  • DELTA 3 (1,024Wh) with 2 in series (320W): about 3.2 hours.

Real Philippine days with clouds or haze take longer. Our guide on why panels give less than their rating explains why.

Setup

Unfold the panel or panels in full sun. Connect them in series if you are using two, then run the MC4-to-XT60i cable to the station. This is plug-and-play kit that you can set up yourself by following the manual. Permanent roof mounting, or connecting to your home’s wiring, needs a licensed electrician and an LGU electrical permit.

Bottom line

Two NextGen 160W panels in series are an easy way to max out a RIVER 2 Max, RIVER 2 Pro or RIVER 3 Plus. They also make a solid 320W setup for any DELTA 3 port. For an 8A RIVER, pick a smaller panel.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the EcoFlow 160W panel with a RIVER 2?
The RIVER 2 manual lists a '160W portable solar panel' among its accessories, so EcoFlow appears to treat it as usable (the station would presumably cap input at its 110W maximum). But the panel's 9.1A short-circuit current is above the RIVER 2's published 8A input, so our strict check does not recommend it. Two EcoFlow 60W panels in parallel are a safer way to fill a RIVER 2's 110W input.
Can I connect two EcoFlow 160W panels in parallel?
Not on any RIVER or DELTA 3. Two in parallel make 18.2A, which is over their 13A, 15A and 18A limits. Wire them in series instead (42.6V, 9.1A).
Is this the same as the EcoFlow 160W Lightweight panel?
No. The EcoFlow PH store sells a different 160W Lightweight bifacial panel (3.8 kg, built-in XT60 cable). This article covers the NextGen 160W single-face panel (5.6 kg, MC4 leads) sold on the Lazada listing we link.
