Which EcoFlow Power Stations Work With the EcoFlow 220W Solar Panel?

One EcoFlow NextGen 220W Portable Solar Panel is all a RIVER 2 Max, RIVER 2 Pro, RIVER 3 Plus, RIVER 3 Max or RIVER 3 Max Plus can use, because it fills their 220W solar input. On any DELTA 3, wire 2 in series per solar port for 440W. Don’t use it on a RIVER 2, RIVER 3 or RIVER 3 UPS: its 12.4A current is above their 8A limit.

The panel in numbers

These figures are from EcoFlow’s manual for the NextGen 220W (EF-Fold-P220-04), and they match EcoFlow’s CA store:

• 220W, Voc 21.5V, Isc 12.4A (operating 18.4V at 11.9A)
• Single-face, 7.2 kg, MC4 connectors
• In the box: storage case and a 2.5 m Solar (MC4) to XT60i charging cable

The EcoFlow PH Lazada listing has two conflicting spec blocks. One of them repeats the 160W panel’s numbers, so we use the manual’s figures. This is also a different product from the 220W Lightweight bifacial panel on the EcoFlow PH store.

Compatibility table

Notes:

• DELTA 3 Max Plus: EcoFlow lists the total solar input as both 1,000W and 1,600W. We use 1,000W. EcoFlow does not publish a per-port watt limit.
• DELTA Pro Ultra: its manual advises against 6, 8 or 10 of these panels in series at low temperature (below 0°C). That is rarely an issue in the Philippines, but it shows how close long strings get to the limit.
• Cables: the included MC4-to-XT60i cable fits RIVER and DELTA 3 ports. For series wiring, join the MC4 leads male-to-female. The DELTA Pro Ultra’s High-PV port takes the MC4 leads directly, and its Low-PV port uses the cable that comes with the DELTA Pro Ultra. For the DELTA Pro 3 High-PV port, the manual specifies an EcoFlow “Solar to XT60 Charging cable”. EcoFlow does not say whether the included XT60i cable fits, so ask EcoFlow first.

Combinations to avoid

• RIVER 2, RIVER 3, RIVER 3 UPS: 12.4A is over the 8A input.
• Any parallel wiring on RIVER or DELTA 3 models: 2 panels make 24.8A, which is over the 13A, 15A, 18A and 20A limits.
• 3 in series on a DELTA 3: 64.5V is over 60V.
• 1 panel on the DELTA Pro 3 High-PV port: 18.4V is under its 30V minimum.

Example charge time

Assuming full output the whole time, a best case:

• RIVER 3 Plus (286Wh), 1 panel: 286 ÷ 220 ≈ 1.3 hours. EcoFlow PH quotes “as fast as 1.5 hr”.
• DELTA 3 1500 (1,536Wh), 2 in series (440W): about 3.5 hours.

Setup

Unfold the panel or panels in direct sun. For two panels, connect them in series first, then plug the MC4-to-XT60i cable into the station. This is plug-and-play kit that you can set up yourself by following the manual. Anything bolted to your roof or tied into your home’s wiring needs a licensed electrician and an LGU electrical permit.

Bottom line

For a RIVER 2 Max, RIVER 2 Pro or RIVER 3 Plus, one NextGen 220W panel is all you need, because a second one adds nothing. For a DELTA 3, two in series per port give 440W. Never wire them in parallel on these stations.
