How Long Can a Big Power Station Run a 1HP Inverter Aircon?

How long can a DELTA Pro 3, DELTA Pro Ultra or DELTA 3 Max run a 1HP inverter aircon? Runtime maths with verified Wh and aircon watts, assumptions stated.

Checked against the sources listed below. How we research.

Key takeaways

  • Runtime ≈ station Wh × 0.85 ÷ the aircon's average watts. The 0.85 is our runtime calculator's usable-energy figure for AC devices.
  • With a 740W Kolin 1HP inverter unit averaging half its rated power (example assumption): DELTA 3 Max about 4.7 hours, DELTA Pro 3 about 9.4 hours, DELTA Pro Ultra about 14 hours.
  • At full rated power the whole time (worst case), halve those figures.
  • Expandable models go further: a DELTA Pro 3 with two Smart Extra Batteries (12,288 Wh) is about 28 hours in the same example.
  • Solar can top up the battery during the day, but it doesn't help at night.

A big EcoFlow station runs a 1HP inverter aircon for roughly 5 to 14 hours. In our worked example, with a 740W Kolin KA-100GQAIINV32 averaging half its rated power, a DELTA 3 Max lasts about 4.7 hours, a DELTA Pro 3 about 9.4 hours and a DELTA Pro Ultra about 14 hours. All three have far more AC output than a 1HP unit needs, so capacity is what limits them.

The formula and the assumptions

Runtime (hours) ≈ station Wh × 0.85 ÷ aircon average watts

  • 0.85: the share of stored energy our EcoFlow runtime calculator assumes reaches AC devices after conversion losses.
  • Average watts (example assumption): inverter aircons slow down once the room is cool. The DOE’s older energy-label formula assumes inverter units average 0.5 of their rated power, so we use 740W × 0.5 = 370W. On a hot afternoon, a unit in a big room may run near its full 740W, which is the worst case shown below.

Runtime table

Capacities and AC outputs are from EcoFlow Philippines’ specs.

Station Capacity AC output Example (370W avg) Worst case (740W)
DELTA 3 Max (Shopee · Lazada) 2,048 Wh 2,400W (4,800W surge) about 4.7 h about 2.4 h
DELTA Pro 3 (Shopee · Lazada) 4,096 Wh 4,000W (8,000W surge) about 9.4 h about 4.7 h
DELTA Pro 3 + 2 Smart Extra Batteries 12,288 Wh (EcoFlow rounds to “12kWh”) 4,000W about 28 h about 14 h
DELTA Pro Ultra (Shopee · Lazada) (inverter + 1 battery) 6,144 Wh 6,900W about 14 h about 7 h

How the DELTA Pro 3 figure works: 4,096 × 0.85 = 3,482 Wh usable, and 3,482 ÷ 370 ≈ 9.4 hours.

Model notes from EcoFlow’s pages:

  • DELTA 3 Max: not expandable. EcoFlow says battery expansion is for the DELTA 3 Max Plus only.
  • DELTA Pro 3: takes up to two Smart Extra Batteries of 4,096 Wh each (Lazada). Each one adds about 9.4 hours in this example.
  • DELTA Pro Ultra: expands to 30,720 Wh (5 × 6,144 Wh batteries). EcoFlow PH lists its output as 230V 50Hz, so check that your aircon’s label or manual accepts 50Hz before you rely on it.

Pick the aircon with the lowest watts

Runtime scales directly with the aircon’s watts. Same DELTA Pro 3, same assumptions:

Aircon (1HP inverter) Rated Example avg DELTA Pro 3 runtime
TCL TAC-11CSD/P7 650W 325W about 10.7 h
TCL TAC-09CWI/UJE2 733W 367W about 9.5 h
Kolin KA-100GQAIINV32 740W 370W about 9.4 h

Set the thermostat to 24°C (the DOE’s recommended setting), close windows and curtains, and clean the filter. All three help the unit settle at lower power sooner.

Adding solar

Solar refills the battery during the day. Verified setups for the DELTA Pro 3 include 6 × EcoFlow 220W panels in series on the High-PV input (1,320W usable). EcoFlow’s manual specifies a “Solar to XT60 Charging cable” for that port. For the DELTA 3 Max, use 2 × 220W in series (440W). These portable panels can be set up by the owner following the manual. Roof mounting or house wiring needs a licensed electrician and an LGU permit. For night use, see why you need batteries for solar aircon at night.

Bottom line

Divide the station’s Wh × 0.85 by your aircon’s average watts. For a verified 1HP inverter unit, a DELTA 3 Max covers an evening, a DELTA Pro 3 covers most of a night, and a DELTA Pro Ultra or an expanded DELTA Pro 3 covers a full night with room to spare. Run your own figures in the power station runtime calculator.

Frequently asked questions

Can a DELTA Pro 3 run a 1HP aircon all night?
In our example (740W unit averaging 370W), about 9.4 hours, which covers a typical night. On a hot night when the unit runs harder, expect less. An extra battery adds about 4,096 Wh each.
Why is my real runtime shorter than the estimate?
The aircon may run near full power in a hot room, the door may open often, or the room may be large for 1HP. Older batteries also hold less. Use your aircon's own label watts and keep a margin.
Does a lower-watt aircon really make a difference?
Yes. The 650W TCL TAC-11CSD/P7 averaging 325W runs about 10.7 hours on a DELTA Pro 3 in the same example, versus about 9.4 hours for a 740W unit.
