1.5HP Window Type Aircons That Use the Least Electricity, Ranked by CSPF

Which 1.5HP window type aircon uses the least electricity? Verified Kolin, TCL, iFFALCON and Samsung inverter window units ranked by CSPF and rated watts.

Checked against the sources listed below. How we research.

Key takeaways

  • The Kolin KA-150GQAIINV32 Quad AI full DC inverter leads verified 1.5HP window units: CSPF 5.53, 1,010 W rated input and 3.89 kW capacity.
  • Next: TCL TAC-12CWI/UB2 (CSPF 5.04, 1,100 W), iFFALCON IFAC-12CWI/UL (4.88, 1,150 W) and TCL TAC-12CWI/UJE2 (4.36, 1,170 W).
  • The Kolin is the only unit here that has both the lowest watts and the most cooling capacity.
  • Use label figures: the TCL UB2 label says 1,100 W, not the 1,550 W in one listing, and the Kolin label shows 4 stars, not 5.
  • Samsung's AW40F12D0ATNTC (1,170 W, EER 2.7 W/W) has no published CSPF, so it is listed separately.

The 1.5HP window type aircon that uses the least electricity, among verified models, is the Kolin KA-150GQAIINV32 (Quad AI full DC inverter): CSPF 5.53, 1,010 W rated input and 3.89 kW of rated cooling. It has both the highest CSPF and the lowest watts in this group, and the most capacity too. The TCL TAC-12CWI/UB2 (CSPF 5.04, 1,100 W) is second.

How we ranked them

By CSPF first, then rated watts. CSPF is the “Energy Efficiency Rating” on the DOE label: cooling per kWh over a standard season. Only models with rated watts and CSPF from a DOE label or the manufacturer are ranked.

1.5HP window aircons ranked

Rank Model Rated input CSPF Stars Rated capacity Suggested area
1 Kolin KA-150GQAIINV32 1,010 W 5.53 4 (newer label) 3.89 kW (13,990 kJ/h) 19–24 sqm
2 TCL TAC-12CWI/UB2 1,100 W 5.04 5 (older label) 3.33 kW (12,000 kJ/h) Not confirmed
3 iFFALCON IFAC-12CWI/UL 1,150 W 4.88 5 (older label) 3.33 kW Not published
4 TCL TAC-12CWI/UJE2 1,170 W 4.36 5 (older label) 3.52 kW (12,660 kJ/h) 15–23 sqm

Listed separately (no CSPF published): the Samsung AW40F12D0ATNTC compact inverter window unit: 1,170 W, 3.3 kW, 5 stars per Samsung, EER 2.7 W/W. Samsung doesn’t list a CSPF, so it can’t be ranked on the same scale. Its 5-star grade is based on CSPF, which Samsung doesn’t show.

What stands out

Kolin: a clear lead. It cools 3.89 kW for 1,010 W at its rated point. The others give 3.33 to 3.52 kW for 1,100 to 1,170 W. Kolin publishes a power range of 202 to 1,212 W and a 5.00 A input current. Some listings call it 5-star; its DOE label shows 4 stars on a newer label, where star bands differ. Its CSPF is still the highest here.

TCL UB2 and iFFALCON UL are close. Both are rated 3.33 kW, and the UB2 is a little more efficient (5.04 vs 4.88) and uses 50 W less at full load.

The UJE2 has more capacity but a lower CSPF. At 3.52 kW it cools more than the UB2, but its CSPF of 4.36 is the lowest of the ranked units. Anson’s lists its power range as 220 to 1,580 W.

Comparing label monthly kWh: the UB2 (148.5 kWh), iFFALCON (155.25 kWh) and UJE2 (157.95 kWh) labels were issued in the same year, so those three compare fairly. The Kolin’s newer label (79.95 kWh) uses a different method and can’t be compared with them. See how to read the energy label.

Example monthly cost

Example only: 8 hours a night, 30 days, at an example rate of ₱12 per kWh (check your own on our electricity rates page). The “example factor” is the DOE’s older-label assumption that an inverter averages half its rated input; actual use varies.

Model Full power With example factor 0.5
Kolin KA-150GQAIINV32 (1,010 W) 242.4 kWh, about ₱2,909 121.2 kWh, about ₱1,454
TCL TAC-12CWI/UB2 (1,100 W) 264 kWh, about ₱3,168 132 kWh, about ₱1,584
iFFALCON IFAC-12CWI/UL (1,150 W) 276 kWh, about ₱3,312 138 kWh, about ₱1,656
TCL TAC-12CWI/UJE2 (1,170 W) 280.8 kWh, about ₱3,370 140.4 kWh, about ₱1,685

Not ranked (data not confirmed)

  • Fujidenzo IWAR-157T: CSPF 4.70 and the same cabinet as the 1HP model, a probable copied spec; no rated watts.
  • Everest ETIV15CFWEDA, Koppel KV12WR-ARF31B: listing or retailer figures only, and the Everest listing title doesn’t match one model code.
  • Midea Qube 1.5HP (MWWA-12CRFN8): the 1,542 W “rated input” looks like a maximum figure.
  • Xtreme XACWT15X / XACWT15RX “inverter grade”: the brand’s own Lazada description calls the 15RX “non-inverter”, and its stated 1,825 W and EER don’t reconcile.
  • Astron TCL-RE150 “inverter class”, Hisense and Haier 1.5HP window units: no confirmed specs.

Where to buy

A 1.5HP unit draws a fair amount of current, so have a licensed technician or authorised installer check that your outlet and circuit can carry it.

Bottom line

The Kolin KA-150GQAIINV32 is the verified 1.5HP window unit to beat: highest CSPF, lowest watts and most capacity. The TCL TAC-12CWI/UB2 is the next-best choice and is sold on both Shopee and Lazada. If a split is possible, the 1.5HP split ranking shows CSPFs above 6.

Frequently asked questions

How many watts does a 1.5HP inverter window aircon use?
The verified 1.5HP inverter window units are rated at 1,010 W to 1,170 W of power input: Kolin KA-150GQAIINV32 1,010 W, TCL TAC-12CWI/UB2 1,100 W, iFFALCON IFAC-12CWI/UL 1,150 W, and TCL TAC-12CWI/UJE2 and Samsung AW40F12D0ATNTC 1,170 W each. Inverters vary their power: the Kolin's published range is 202 to 1,212 W.
Why does a listing say the TCL 1.5HP UB2 uses 1,550 watts?
That figure is not on the DOE energy label, which gives a rated power input of 1,100 W. Compare the label figure.
What room size is the Kolin 1.5HP Quad AI for?
Kolin's spec text, reproduced by Anson's and on Lazada, says 19 to 24 sqm (unloaded). A sunny room, a hot roof or several people may need more capacity.
Is the Fujidenzo IWAR-157T 1.5HP efficient?
Fujidenzo lists CSPF 4.70, the same figure and cabinet size as its 1HP IWAR-107T, which suggests a copied spec. No rated watts are published, so we have not ranked it.
