Key takeaways
- The Midea MSCH-13CRFN8 is a 1.5HP Chione Series high wall inverter split. Midea Philippines lists 1,250 W input and 5.09 A at standard cooling conditions.
- Western Appliances lists 12,660 kJ/h cooling (range 4,115–13,188 kJ/h), CSPF 5.45 and 5 stars. We couldn't open the DOE label.
- A retailer's '2,050 W / 9.0 A' figure conflicts with Midea's 1,250 W and looks like a maximum input.
- At full rated power, 10 hours a day for 30 days is 375 kWh, about ₱4,500 at an example ₱12/kWh. Inverter units often average less.
- Its 1,250 W is high for the class. The TCL P7 1.5HP (1,000 W, CSPF 6.74) and Samsung AR60H13 (1,030 W, CSPF 5.7) draw less and rate higher.

Input, current, power supply and area come from Midea’s own spec table, with Anson’s agreeing on the input. Capacity, CSPF and stars are from Western Appliances. As with the 1HP model, Western also prints a “2,050 W / 9.0 A” rated input line that conflicts with Midea. Treat it as a probable maximum, and use 1,250 W for running costs.
A high CSPF with high rated watts
This model is a good example of why watts alone don’t tell you the running cost. At 1,250 W, it has one of the highest rated inputs among the verified 1.5HP units we checked. Yet its retailer-listed CSPF of 5.45 is above several units that draw fewer rated watts, such as the TCL UB2 1.5HP window unit (1,100 W, CSPF 5.04) and the iFFALCON IFAC-12CWI/UL (1,150 W, CSPF 4.88). Rated watts are measured at one full-load test point. CSPF reflects a whole season, including the many hours an inverter runs slowly. It also has more cooling capacity (12,660 kJ/h) than either of those units.
What it costs to run each month
A 1.5HP unit often runs long hours in a living area. This example uses 10 hours a day:
monthly kWh = watts × hours per day × days ÷ 1,000
- At full rated power: 1,250 × 10 × 30 ÷ 1,000 = 375 kWh, about ₱4,500 at an example rate of ₱12 per kWh (use your own bill’s rate).
- At half the rated input on average (an example assumption; real use depends on room, weather and setting): 187.5 kWh, about ₱2,250.
For 8 hours a night, the full-power figure is 300 kWh (about ₱3,600). Check your own case in the aircon electricity cost calculator and get your rate from the electricity rates page.
How it compares with other 1.5HP split aircons
| Model | Rated input | CSPF | Cooling capacity | Stars |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TCL TAC-14CSD/P7 | 1,000 W | 6.74 | 3.89 kW | 5 |
| Samsung AR60H13D1FWNTC | 1,030 W | 5.7 | 12,660 kJ/h | 5 |
| Midea MSCH-13CRFN8 | 1,250 W | 5.45 (retailer) | 12,660 kJ/h | 5 (retailer) |
| TCL TAC-13CSD/KEI2 | 1,300 W | 4.92 | 13,000 kJ/h | 5 |
The Samsung AR60H13D1FWNTC is the most direct rival: the same 12,660 kJ/h capacity, but 220 W less rated input and a higher CSPF. Both are on Shopee. The TCL P7 1.5HP is further ahead on every figure. The TCL KEI2 1.5HP draws a little more and has a lower CSPF.

Who the MSCH-13CRFN8 suits
- Midea fans and Shopee shoppers who want a 5-star (retailer-listed) 1.5HP split from an official store.
- Rooms of about 16–23 m² (Midea’s figure).
- Households that run the aircon long hours at part load, where its CSPF counts for more than its rated watts.
If you’re choosing purely on efficiency, the Samsung or TCL P7 rate higher. A split-type install needs a licensed technician or Midea’s authorised installer.
