Key takeaways

  • The TCL TAC-09CSD/FBI (FreshIN 2.0) is a 1HP inverter split aircon. TCL's spec sheet gives 660 W rated input, CSPF 6.28 and 2.93 kW of cooling.
  • Its input range is 220–1,100 W, with a maximum current of 5.8 A and a 155–265 V operating range.
  • We couldn't find the DOE label for the 1HP, so its star rating is unconfirmed. Check the yellow label on the unit before you pay.
  • At full rated power, 8 hours a night for 30 days is about 158 kWh, roughly ₱1,901 at an example ₱12/kWh.
  • Among verified 1HP aircons, only TCL's own P7 1HP (CSPF 7.11, 650 W) rates higher.

The TCL TAC-09CSD/FBI is a 1HP inverter split-type aircon. TCL’s spec sheet lists a rated input of 660 W and a CSPF of 6.28, with 2.93 kW of cooling. Its star rating isn’t confirmed because we couldn’t find the 1HP’s DOE label. It is sold as the FBI CoolPro FreshIN 2.0 series at the TCL Official Store on Shopee and the TCL store on Lazada.

A spec sheet is not a label

For this model we have TCL’s spec sheet, not the DOE label. The two don’t always agree. For the 1.5HP FBI, for example, the spec sheet says 1,050 W, while the DOE label says 1,130 W. So before you buy the 1HP, find the yellow DOE energy label on the indoor unit or in the listing gallery. Check that it shows about 660 W and CSPF 6.28. If the label differs, go by the label.

What it costs to run each month

monthly kWh = watts × hours per day × days ÷ 1,000

For a bedroom used 8 hours a night, 30 nights:

  • At full rated power: 660 × 8 × 30 ÷ 1,000 = 158.4 kWh, about ₱1,901 at an example rate of ₱12 per kWh. Use your own bill’s rate.
  • At half the rated input on average (an example assumption; inverters often run well below rated power once the room is cool, but it varies): 79.2 kWh, about ₱950.

The wide 220–1,100 W range shows how much an inverter’s draw can swing. It draws most in the first minutes on a hot afternoon and least on a mild night. Try different hours in the aircon electricity cost calculator and check your electric company on the electricity rates page.

How it compares with other 1HP split aircons

Model Rated input CSPF Cooling capacity Stars
TCL TAC-11CSD/P7 650 W 7.11 3.06 kW 5
TCL TAC-09CSD/FBI 660 W 6.28 2.93 kW not confirmed
Fujidenzo HIS-103AG 820 W 5.33 (retailer) 9,720 kJ/h 5
TCL TAC-10CSD/KEI2 780 W 4.9 2.78 kW 5

The FBI is second only to TCL’s newer P7 1HP, which has a slightly lower rated input and a clearly higher CSPF. If both are in stock, compare today’s prices. The FBI may make sense if it is cheaper.

The Fujidenzo HIS-103AG and TCL’s KEI2 1HP both draw more watts at their rated points and have lower CSPFs. The Fujidenzo’s CSPF comes from a retailer, not a label we could open.

Who the TAC-09CSD/FBI suits

  • Small to medium bedrooms within TCL’s 9–16 m² range.
  • Homes with unstable voltage, given the 155–265 V operating range.
  • Backup-power planners: the published 1,100 W maximum input and 5.8 A maximum current are figures many brands don’t publish. Our solar aircon guides show how to use them.

Split-type installation needs proper piping, vacuuming and outdoor-unit placement. Use a licensed technician or TCL’s authorised installer. See also inverter vs non-inverter aircons.

Bottom line

On TCL’s spec sheet, the TAC-09CSD/FBI is a very efficient 1HP split: 660 W, CSPF 6.28. Only the P7 1HP beats it in our verified data. Because the 1HP’s DOE label wasn’t available to us, check the label on the unit before you pay.

Frequently asked questions

How many watts does the TCL FBI 1HP use?
TCL's spec sheet lists a rated input of 660 W, within a range of 220 to 1,100 W. The maximum input is 1,100 W, which is the figure to use if you are sizing a generator or backup power system.
How many stars does the TCL TAC-09CSD/FBI have?
We couldn't confirm it. The TCL store gallery showed the DOE label for the 1.5HP FBI (5 stars) but not for the 1HP. Look for the yellow DOE energy label on the indoor unit or ask the seller for it.
What is FreshIN 2.0?
It is the name TCL uses for the FBI series. The newer P7 series is sold as FreshIN 3.0. The two series have different efficiency figures, so compare them by model code.
What current does the TCL FBI 1HP draw?
The spec sheet lists a rated current of 2.9 A (range 1.2–5.8 A) and a maximum current of 5.8 A on a 230V, 60Hz single-phase supply.
