Can I Use a Non-EcoFlow Solar Panel With My EcoFlow Power Station?

Yes, if the panel passes a simple Voc and Isc check against your EcoFlow's solar input. Worked examples with PowMr and BLUETTI panels, plus the MC4-to-XT60i adapter.

Checked against the sources listed below. How we research.

Key takeaways

  • Usually yes, if the panel's numbers fit. Its Voc must stay at least 5% below the port's maximum voltage, its Isc must not exceed the port's current limit, and its Vmp must be above the port's minimum voltage.
  • Series wiring adds Voc. Parallel wiring adds Isc. Check the total, not just one panel.
  • A PowMr 100W flexible panel (21.6V, 6.11A) passes on a RIVER 3. A PowMr 150W (9.16A) and a BLUETTI PV200 (10.3A) do not, because the RIVER 3's input is 8A.
  • Most third-party panels have MC4 plugs, so you need an MC4-to-XT60i adapter to reach an EcoFlow XT60i port.
  • This is an arithmetic check against published limits, not an EcoFlow approval. Check your warranty terms.

Yes, you can use a non-EcoFlow solar panel with an EcoFlow power station, as long as it passes three checks against the station’s solar input:

  1. Its Voc (open-circuit voltage) stays at least 5% below the port’s maximum voltage.
  2. Its Isc (short-circuit current) is no higher than the port’s current limit.
  3. Its Vmp (operating voltage) is above the port’s minimum voltage.

Most third-party panels use MC4 plugs, so you will also need an MC4-to-XT60i adapter cable.

Step 1: Read the panel’s label

Find Voc, Isc and Vmp on the spec sticker or the maker’s datasheet. Use the manufacturer’s figures, not the marketplace title. A PowMr 150W flexible listing says “20.4V 9.5A”, for example, while PowMr’s own page gives Voc 21.6V and Isc 9.16A. If no Voc or Isc is published anywhere, stop here, because you can’t check that panel.

Step 2: Find your station’s solar input limits

These limits are from EcoFlow’s manuals:

EcoFlow station Voltage range Max current Max solar watts 95% of max V
RIVER 2, RIVER 3, RIVER 3 UPS 11–30V 8A 110W 28.5V
RIVER 2 Max, RIVER 2 Pro 11–50V 13A 220W 47.5V
RIVER 3 Plus, RIVER 3 Max, RIVER 3 Max Plus 11–55V 13A 220W 52.25V
DELTA 3, DELTA 3 Classic, DELTA 3 1500 11–60V 15A 500W 57V
DELTA 3 Max 11–60V 13A 500W 57V
DELTA 3 1000 Air / 2000 Air (per port) 12–60V 15A 500W 57V

Step 3: Do the maths

  • One panel: compare its Voc and Isc directly.
  • Series (plus to minus): add up the Voc values. The current stays the same.
  • Parallel (plus to plus): add up the Isc values. The voltage stays the same.

Usable solar is the lower of the panels’ total watts and the port’s maximum watts.

Worked examples

PowMr 100W flexible (on Lazada). PowMr lists Voc 21.6V, Isc 6.11A, Vmp 18V.

  • RIVER 3, 1 panel: 21.6V ≤ 28.5V ✓. 6.11A ≤ 8A ✓. 18V ≥ 11V ✓. Passes, with up to 100W usable.
  • RIVER 3, 2 in series: 43.2V > 28.5V ✗. Fails.
  • RIVER 3, 2 in parallel: 12.22A > 8A ✗. Fails.

PowMr 150W flexible (on Lazada). PowMr lists Voc 21.6V, Isc 9.16A, Vmp 18V.

  • RIVER 3: 9.16A > 8A ✗. Fails on current, even though the voltage is fine.
  • RIVER 3 Plus, 2 in series: 43.2V ≤ 52.25V ✓. 9.16A ≤ 13A ✓. Passes, but the port caps usable solar at 220W.
  • DELTA 3, 2 in series: 43.2V ≤ 57V ✓. 9.16A ≤ 15A ✓. Passes, with 300W usable.
  • DELTA 3, 3 in series: 64.8V > 57V ✗. Fails.

BLUETTI PV200 (on Lazada; pick the PV200 variant). BLUETTI PH lists Voc 26.1V, Isc 10.3A, Vmp 20.5V, with a standard MC4 connector.

  • RIVER 3: 26.1V ≤ 28.5V ✓, but 10.3A > 8A ✗. Fails.
  • RIVER 2 Max, 1 panel: 26.1V ≤ 47.5V ✓. 10.3A ≤ 13A ✓. Passes, with 200W usable.
  • RIVER 2 Max, 2 in series: 52.2V > 47.5V ✗. Fails.
  • DELTA 3, 2 in series: 52.2V ≤ 57V ✓. 10.3A ≤ 15A ✓. Passes, with 400W usable.
  • DELTA 3, 2 in parallel: 20.6A > 15A ✗. Fails.

The same listing also sells the Sora 220 as a variant, which has different figures (Voc 25.9V, Isc 11A), so check which one you receive.

Step 4: Get the right connector

EcoFlow RIVER and DELTA 3 solar inputs are XT60i. For an MC4 panel, use EcoFlow’s Solar to XT60i Charging Cable (EcoFlow PH store) or an MC4-to-XT60i adapter cable on Shopee. Match red to positive. PowMr does not publish the connector type for its flexible panels, so check what is fitted before you order an adapter.

Panels we can’t check

Some panels publish no Voc or Isc (for example the PowMr 100W and 200W rigid listings, the PowMr 200W flexible and the Flowatt panels). Others, like the BLUETTI PV350S, have three different spec sets across official pages. Skip these until you can read a reliable label.

Safety and warranty

This check uses published limits. It is not an EcoFlow approval, so read your station’s warranty terms. Plug-and-play panels on the ground are something you can set up yourself by following the manuals. Anything wired into your house, breaker panel or roof needs a licensed electrician and an LGU electrical permit. For the same maths applied to charge controllers, see matching panels to a charge controller.

What to buy

Bottom line

Brand doesn’t matter. Numbers do. Keep the total Voc at least 5% under the port’s maximum, keep the total Isc at or under its current limit, use a proper MC4-to-XT60i adapter, and a third-party panel can charge your EcoFlow.

Frequently asked questions

Will a third-party solar panel damage my EcoFlow?
Too much voltage is the real risk. EcoFlow's RIVER manuals warn you to keep panel voltage under the port's maximum (30V, 50V or 55V) to avoid product damage. Keep the panel's Voc, or the string's total Voc, at least 5% below that limit, and never exceed the current limit.
Where do I find a panel's Voc and Isc?
On the spec label on the back of the panel, or in the manufacturer's datasheet. Use the manufacturer's figures rather than a marketplace listing if they differ. For example, a PowMr 150W listing on Lazada shows '20.4V 9.5A', while PowMr's own page says Voc 21.6V and Isc 9.16A.
Can I put a BLUETTI solar panel on an EcoFlow?
The numbers decide. A BLUETTI PV200 (Voc 26.1V, Isc 10.3A, MC4) passes our check on a RIVER 2 Max (1 panel) and on a DELTA 3 (up to 2 in series), with an MC4-to-XT60i adapter. It fails on a RIVER 3, because 10.3A is over the 8A input.
What if the panel's specs aren't published?
Then you can't check it, so don't connect it. Several panels sold online, including some rigid and flexible 100–200W listings, publish no Voc or Isc at all.
