Can a Small EcoFlow RIVER Power Station Run an Aircon?
Can an EcoFlow RIVER power station run an aircon? Realistically no: RIVER AC outputs are 300–800W and capacities 245–858 Wh. The numbers, and what to buy instead.
Checked against the sources listed below. How we research.
Key takeaways
- Realistically, no. RIVER models give 300W to 800W of continuous AC output. Verified 1HP inverter aircons are rated 650–880W.
- Even the smallest verified window units (0.6HP, 468–580W rated) are fixed-speed, and none of their makers publish a starting current.
- Capacity is the bigger problem: the largest RIVER, the RIVER 3 Max Plus (858 Wh), would run a 468W unit for only about 1.6 hours.
- Use a RIVER for fans, lights, Wi-Fi and phones during brownouts. For an aircon, step up to a DELTA 3 Max or DELTA Pro 3.

No, a small EcoFlow RIVER can’t realistically run an aircon. RIVER models give 300W to 800W of continuous AC output and store 245 Wh to 858 Wh. A verified 1HP inverter aircon is rated 650–880W, and even if a tiny window unit did start, the battery would be empty in about an hour or two. Keep your RIVER 3 Plus or RIVER 2 Pro for fans, lights and Wi-Fi, and use a DELTA 3 Max or bigger for cooling.
The numbers
RIVER figures are from EcoFlow’s published specs.

Now the smallest verified aircons, with rated watts from DOE labels or manufacturer pages:
| Aircon | Type | Rated input |
|---|---|---|
| Kelvinator WKELA006EA-TF, 0.6HP | Window, non-inverter | 468W |
| iFFALCON IFAC-06CW/UL, 0.6HP | Window, non-inverter | 510W |
| Astron TCL-60MA, 0.6HP (“inverter class”) | Window, fixed-speed | 580W |
| iFFALCON IFAC-07CWI/UL, 0.7HP | Window, inverter | 620W |
| TCL TAC-11CSD/P7, 1HP | Split, inverter | 650W |
Problem 1: Output
- 300W and 500W RIVERs: below every aircon in the table. They can’t run one.
- 600W RIVER 3 Plus / Max / Max Plus: above only the fixed-speed 0.6HP units. Those units switch their compressor fully on and off, and none of their makers publish a starting current. You’d be relying on the 1,200W surge with no data to prove it’s enough. Astron’s own site says “inverter class” means R-32 refrigerant, not an inverter compressor.
- 800W RIVER 2 Pro: above the 0.6–0.7HP units, but below any verified 1HP unit’s peak.
Problem 2: Capacity
Using our runtime calculator’s 85% usable-energy figure:
- RIVER 3 Max Plus with the 468W Kelvinator: 858 × 0.85 ÷ 468 ≈ 1.6 hours
- RIVER 2 Pro with the 620W iFFALCON 0.7HP inverter (example assumption: averaging half, 310W): 768 × 0.85 ÷ 310 ≈ 2.1 hours, if it runs at all
That’s not a night’s sleep, and solar can’t help after dark. A RIVER takes at most 220W of solar input, which is too little to keep up with an aircon during the day either.
What a RIVER is good for
During a brownout, a RIVER keeps the essentials going: an electric fan, LED lights, the router and phones. A rechargeable fan such as the Firefly 12” desk fan with solar panel or the Bosca 16” solar stand fan is another low-power way to stay cool. Check each listing for its watts.
What to buy for an aircon instead
- EcoFlow DELTA 3 Max (2,400W AC, 2,048 Wh): Shopee · Lazada
- EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 (4,000W AC, 4,096 Wh): Lazada (EcoFlow PH) · Shopee
- Low-watt aircon: TCL TAC-11CSD/P7 on Lazada · Shopee

Bottom line
A RIVER doesn’t have the output or the battery for an aircon. Don’t stretch it. Use it for fans and essentials, and choose a DELTA 3 Max or DELTA Pro 3 if cooling is the goal. See which EcoFlow models can run an aircon.
